Reader responses for classroom activities
After a reading, pupils need a clear prompt and somewhere to put their response. A board can collect short contributions on a shared page.
How to set it up
Create a board for the activity. Add the reading title, your prompt and instructions about what participants should include. Share its link or show the QR code in class.
Prompts for a reading activity
Example content
- Which detail caught your attention?
- What do you think the character should do?
- What question would you ask the author?
- Write a constructive response to the reading
Set expectations before participation
Explain who can read the board and ask participants to leave out personal information. A public board is accessible through its link; it is not a restricted classroom space.
Choose the format for your activity
Public messages suit a shared discussion. Admin-only feedback keeps submissions out of the public view. Use your school’s approved process for formal assessment and personal student records.
Try a short activity
This setup is inspired by reader-response boards created on Public Boards. It is an example activity, rather than a school endorsement.
